During our canape making class our Executive Head Chef Melanie will teach you all the skills needed to make two simple, yet impressive and mouth-watering appetisers from scratch. These can then be easily recreated at home or for an event to wow guests.
Ideal for a wide range of occasions, from team building exercises to bridal showers and stag parties, our class will feed everyone’s imagination so, at the end, even those who have minimal kitchen skills will have created a scrumptious delight.
Our canape making class is a great deal of fun and suitable for a minimum of 10 people. It is completely mobile and can be taught anywhere that has a kitchen, whether that is a home or office. Alternatively, we are happy to welcome your group to our head office in the Surrey Hills where you can use our state-of-the-art kitchen facilities.
We regularly prepare food to cater for those who have special dietary requirements, so as with all the services we provide, we can make our canape making class totally bespoke to you. Please let us know of any special requirements at the time of booking.
Executive Head Chef Melanie will greet you and provide you with an overview of how to manage your time in the kitchen, give advice on what ingredients work well together, and provide expert tips, such as how to pack in the flavour, the perfect canape size and ensuring a canape is easy to eat.
Guided by Melanie, you will get to work on your first canape following her instructions and learning about the decorative finishing touches that will make your canape stand out.
We will then provide you with ingredients and decorative elements so you can use the skills you have learnt, as well as your imagination, to create your very own signature canape.
At the end of the canape making class, there will of course be time to taste your creations.
Everyone at Lavender Catering is extremely committed to sustainability and we have introduced a range of initiatives to ensure our business does everything it can to protect our planet.

For all events and celebrations we cater – including our canape making class – we aim to source as much of the produce we use as possible from within a 25-mile range our Surrey Hills kitchen.
